Welcome to the Snead Adoption Auction!

Hello! We are Matt and Michelle Snead. Welcome to our Adoption Auction. We are the parents of two wonderful children - Vera is 4 years old, and Kai is 16 months old. Lord willing, we will soon be parents to two more wonderful children. We are currently in the process of adopting two children from Ethiopia and hope to have them home before the end of the year! “Little Eden W” is a 3 year old girl and “Littler Tobias A” just celebrated his 2^nd birthday! Yes, in just a couple of months, we will have a 1 year old, a 2 year old, a 3 year old, and a 4 year old!!! Some may call us crazy. We just love kids and are excited to be adding two more.

In 1999 we met while teaching English in China. In 2002 we got married, and in 2004 we returned to China. We have been living here ever since! We are working with a Chinese NGO that provides special education, physical therapy, medical care, and foster care to China’s special needs orphans. Our income is 100% support based, so when we started the process to adopt from Ethiopia, we knew it was going to be a financial step of faith. We have estimated that the total cost of this adoption will be around $35,000.

This auction is just one way that we are working towards raising money to help offset some of the costs. 100% of your bid/purchase goes towards our adoption costs. Many of the things available through this auction were donated to us by family, friends, and local Chinese Christians who heard that we were adopting and wanted to do something to help.

The leather products were donated by Barrington, the company here in China who has hired Matt and enabled him to work with the NGO. They have donated several items, including an “Obama bag” that retails at $700! We are so thankful for the support they have provided to us as we expand our family through adoption! There are several other donated items you will see in the auction post coming soon.
